4 Tips for Baby & Toddler Friendly Holiday Decor

So many parents say they want their home decor to reflect their own personal style, but this can be especially difficult with little ones running around the house. The holidays can make this a particularly difficult challenge. To help overcome this dilemma below are a few tips and tricks for how to safely and stylishly decorate your home this holiday season.

Begin by taking a look around your children’s rooms and you may be surprised with what you already have on hand.

Artfully Display Children’s Books

If you have a mantel or bookcase pull out any books that have a holiday theme. For example, The Night Before Christmas. If you have hard-covered books they will stand great on their own; if not, use a simple picture frame stand or easel to support the book. Not only will these look great on display, but they are also a great activity the whole family can enjoy.

Festive Stuffed Animals & Toys

Take a look through the toy chest and showcase your children’s toys around the house. Plush toys like black cats or pumpkins work great for Halloween, and in the springtime bunnies for Easter are an adorable addition to any home.

Decorative Pillows

Add some color and cheerful sparkle to your living room with a few new throw pillows, or upgrade your existing pillows with a pillow wrap. Keep in mind that beading or sequins can become dangerous, so look for pillows with screen-printed images.

Door Decor

Hanging decorations from the top of your interior and exterior doors is a great way to add sophisticated style during any season. Given their height, this makes a great place to display holiday flair without the worry of little hands. Traditional wreathes make a great statement but so do stockings or flags.

However you choose to decorate your home for the holidays remember that you can have a stylish and safe home.  Happy decorating!
